You are engaged and are planning a Seattle wedding!
Whether you live in the Seattle area or are planning your wedding from out-of-state, the Seattle and Puget sound area offer a huge variety of wedding venue/location options for your ceremony and reception.
As you think about your Seattle wedding, there are three factors that will play into your ultimate decision for your ceremony and reception/party venue: date, time and place.
Date and Time Of Year: Most Seattle weddings happen during the popular summer months of May, June, July, August and September. Weather in Seattle tends to be very favorable and reliable in July and August and these are the big wedding months. Dates book up in advance and most popular dates are booked a year to two years out. If you desire a July or August date in Seattle, you may have to be flexible on your venue and/or date to fit into this preferred time frame.
Planning your wedding in the “Northwest off season” months of October – April gives you most flexibility on date and venue choices. It most often gives you an opportunity for preferred pricing, too.
As you plan your Seattle wedding, you also need to factor in the local weather. Yes, it rains in Seattle and if you are planning an outdoor wedding, you will always need a “Plan B.” I have seen too many couples get into trouble with their outdoor wedding in Seattle when they didn’t have a back-up plan, especially for an outdoor ceremony.
